Portfolio Monitoring

Getting Proactive and Supporting PCI DSS in your Merchants

ThreatView provides a couple of options for our partners to reduce risk and support PCI DSS Compliance in their portfolios:

  • ThreatView Starter - our free service via partners, will provide your merchants with a monthly external assessment that will check the site for threats AND enable basic tracking of HTTP Headers and Scripts running on their site for PCI Compliance purposes. ​
  • ThreatView Secure - A daily external assessment of the merchant website. Includes all data found in ThreatView Starter, with a more proactive, daily assessment schedule.
  • ThreatView Advanced - for those higher risk merchants requiring security monitoring and real-time threat detection/protection, as well as the ability to thoroughly meet PCI DSS requirements:
    • 5 (Malware Monitoring)
    • 6.4.3 (Script Inventory - real-time)
    • 11.6.1 11.6.1 (HTTP Header Monitoring), and
    • 11.5.2 (File Change Detection)

And soon to include support for:

10.2.1 (Web Access and Error Log Monitoring).

Initiating and Managing micro-Assessments

microAssessments are a Mastercard initiative designed to be an automated assessment of a suspected breached eCommerce website. The technology utilises ThreatView Advanced and is designed to be fully automated; however, our team is on standby to support or assist as required - to assist you or your client​.

ThreatView Risk Categories

ThreatView Risk Scoring is under constant refinement as new data emerges.​

The following are definitions for the risk categories:

  • LOW RISK - no observable risk metrics to report on.
  • MEDIUM RISK - website with lower risk information disclosure leaks, such as software version details.
  • HIGH RISK – malware may have been detected, websites that are using out of date software, presenting an SSL certificate issue or blacklisted.  Generally considered to present a heightened risk of data compromise.
  • CRITICAL RISK – websites that have been positively identified as being compromised with card harvesting malware.
